Hi,

When posting a song, it seems to appear delayed.

Could you adapt the "upload-finished" page to say "will appear soon"?

I get an error:  Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/.esmond/bandnet/v2.bandnet.org/includes/getid3/getid3.php on line 1068

The file is ogg vorbis.

It also seems to happen to mp3s, so at the moment, submitting files simply doesn't work...

Hmm, maybe the host changed their configuration. Looks like a problem using the getid3 stuff, then. One option is to ignore it and add the file anyway, but this loses some of the features of the site.

For images it should be no problem as long as they are supported by GD2.

Do you have an estimate how long it will take to make it work again?

Did you already inquire at your hoster?

There's a file I'd really like to put online...

Looks like they recently disabled the shell_exec function. I've sent them an email about it. I'll see what they say...

Meanwhile I may as well disable the getid3 stuff for now, which I can't do until tomorrow evening.

I'd like to upload the song and it gave me the same error message just now...

Sorry, had a reply. Apparently I need to compile my own PHP binary on the server which will take time and a stable internet connection (I don't want to have to be logging back in every couple of minutes). I can't do that until Friday.

I'll see about disabling getid3 temporarily tonight. Sorry, meant to do it before.

Edit: the getid3 stuff is now disabled so it should be possible to upload stuff. Please let me know if it don't.

Now I no longer get the error message, but the song doesn't get uploaded anyway...
