It is now possible to request an artist profile URL through the site. However, the artist account must have been registered for at least 3 days before you can do this.
If you are elegible for a URL, a link will be shown in the 'my url' box on your artist profile page. This will allow you to choose a URL, which will then be activated immediately.
Having your own profile URL makes it easier to remember when giving it out to people. For example, instead of the URL being http://www.soundnet.co.uk/a/738236 it might become http://www.soundnet.co.uk/pauljones, which is obviously much easier to remember.
I have enable avatars on the forum. You are allowed to upload your avatar as long as it is less than 100x100 pixels and less than 4 KB in size.
