i can't believe that no one here is gabbing aobut gear
for live shows i use: (ok i'm a looper so keep that in mind as you look at this solo acoustic rig)
a highend 20 year old takamine acoustic > analogman bi-comp> boss ps-5 (for bass lines)> robotalk envelopefilter> ernieball vol ped- to a sabine rack mount tuner> pigtronix ep-1 phaser envelope crazyness (with the old eh polyphase mod that is called the marv mod- badass)> boss dd-20> fishman plat eq (for a di box)> makcie 1202 vlz pro> aux out to a boomerang phrase sampler and electrix filter factory> back into the mackie and then sent to
THE BOSE PAS TOWER AND B-1 BASS UNIT (which is second only to my wife and son---it was made for me  )
i allso use a miced udu drum into my mackie for rythm in my loops
sooooooooooooo??????
what do ya got?
I don't gig with any of this but I use most of it for recording occasionally:
Wesley PMA 5-string bass guitar (purple perspex!)
Laney hardcore 15w bass amp
Wesley Viscount electro-acoustic guitar
Encore strat copy
Ross Fame series model 10 (10w) guitar amp
A lot of this was all pretty cheap stuff I got to practise on. I might start saving for some better stuff now that I'm more able to play.
I use - Gordon Smith Telecaster>Boss TU-2>Boss PS-2>Digitech PDS 1002>Line 6 FM-4>Digitech WH-1>Boss PH-1r>Boss DM-2>Boss DD-2>Boss TR-2 (Keeley Modded)>Ampeg VL-503
Our practise room is pretty much full with all the musical junk I own. 50 pedals at the last count I think. Damned second hand bargins.
Chris
one gig i've played
was in a tiny little church with about 20 old dears in
i used my lorenzo 451 acoustic/electric
and a dunlop plectrum
and a music stand with music on
and a capo...
time for an upgrade on my pedal board .................
got rid of several items in sale and trade: fishman eq, pigtronix, dd-20, ernie ball
now its:
tech21paradriver EQ>barber tone press> foxrox octron> robotalk envelope filter> goodrich ldr2 (potless volume/buffer pedal)> Retro-sonic CE-1 clone chorus (check review section)> Diamond Memory lane delay> Boomerang phrase sampler> Bose Paf system with one bass module
within the next year i'm looking to get: a Tim, Cusak tap-phaser, analogman bi-comp..........and maybee replace my robotalk with the new subdecay envelopefilter
I love gear
no one really cares (especially after my "God bless the USA" rant...but here goes)
i sold the robotalk
and now i have the chunk systems oofunk mkII envelope filter on the way
(can't get enough of envelope filters)
I was thinking the other day... Haha, better not wear myself out there... I can't get anything I play to sound like what you play because I don't have such a huge number of pedals! You really seem to like them alot.
love em love em love em
but keep in mind weather i'm on my own or with a band atleast 50% of my playing is just guitar and amp (and maybe a little compression)
but i am such a total obsesive pervert when it comes to rich analog tone and effects....its magical to me
i guess i did too many drugs in high school or something cuz i love that 3-d psychodelia that comes with good effects and good tone
by the way i have been slowly working in my home studio (gosh hig i wish i had the scruples to do good studio work....my recordings blatently suck!!!) so hopefully in the next week i could post a new song
hey chris it looks like you like delay pedals can you tell us about the dm-2 thats preaty much a classic at this point (i have seen several boutique pedal guys cloning that one)
I can never pass up a second hand delay pedal. Especially analogue ones, or the first generation digital ones. They're my favourite. The DM-2 is really sweet. It's quite a natural, grainy, mellow sound. I'm not sure it's worth the money it's now selling for seen as the DD-20 and the Ibanez DE-7 sound pretty close. If you ever find one cheap though I'd pick it up without a second thought. And the self oscillation kicks ass. Although, I did blow up my Fender Deluxe Reverb with it...
I wish I could stop buying pedals, but I love them too much. This month alone I've bought a Line 6 Verbzilla, a Boss CS-2 and a Boss FT-2.
Chris
tell me about it...one of these days my wife is going to kill me
so you blew your deluxe reberb huh? that sucks...what year?
there are two manufacturers that make incredible blackface esc amps
http://www.griesamps.com/
he does preatty much straight clones with modern improvements
and
http://www.brunoamps.com/home.htm
bruno's stuff is out of hand.............more fender tone then an actuall fender (if thats possible and i really do believe it....in my opinion- for the type of playing and sound that i like i think his amps are the best in the world.....i have allready owned several black face late sixties fenders and i would choose his version of the deluxe over a fender anyday)
both guys make a version of the deluxe reverb with 6v6 tubes and twins with 6l6 tubes
both amps sound and play outstanding (obviously the bruno cowtippers are the top choice but a bit spendy.....i think if you love that origonal blackface fender deluxe sound and interaction you would absolutely love the gries deluxe, its actually verry afordable for a boutiqu amp his amps are inbetween 1000-1500 USD)
just sayin.....thought you would like to know
my latest giging board for electric
foxrox octron> chunk systmes mkII envelope filter> rmc3 wha> barber tone press> analogman ts-9 (to be replaced by a klon)> barber tone press II (to be replaced by a TIM)> retro-sonic ce-1 clone> goodrich ldr2 volume pedal> diamond memory lane> all into my vintage fender bandmaster into an avatar semi-closedback 2x12 cab sporting 1 vintage 30 and 1 g12h30
8)
i love guitar gear
