MR. cusack is in the process of building a new pedal
If any of you are familiar with jon cusacks pedals: the brilliant tap-a-whirl...an all analog tap-temp temolo pedal that has 8 different types of waveforms to choose from and has a feature that i have never seen befor
the tap tempo switch uses what he calls a "brake" function
when the tap switch is tapped 2xs the defined rythm is set, but when the tap switch is held down the pedal ramps down slower (until you let off) in a verry "leslie cab" kind of way.....when done again the tremolo rate ramps up....and at any time the pedal could be double tapped to a defined tempo
the one tap tempo switch is brilliantly designed to provide the most userability i have ever noticed in a analog vibroto/tremelo/chorus/delay...ect...
the possibilities of this kind of function in an analog pedal is GENIOUS
I have a cusack screamer fuzz (a very interesting twist on the old ibanez/maxon 808 overdrive)coming to me in the mail and i will be more than happy to review it after putting 30 hours or so on it
but in the mean time
http://www.cusackmusic.com/
check him out
the new pedal will be a "tap-a-phase" (or whatever he chooses to call it)
it will have various wave forms, the clever tap/ramp feature and possibly various gain stages to choose from............it will use opto-cupplers similar to the old mutron phase pedals (as well as the maxon vintage phase ph-350) so if you like that kind of phase you will probably love this
mr cusack mentioned to me that his all time favorite phase stomper was the Electro harmonix small stone
so classic hendrix phase type rockers should be able to find plenty on this pedal too
once the ped is complete i'll be on the waiting list and would love to give you my opinion on it as well
later....
