Just posted this to another forum I own but I think you people need to hear it.
I think this is fairly important, since it's me that supposedly runs this show. (scroll to the bottom for the short story)
My computer has just decided to do what Marvin only wishes he could. Erm, well, I was just about to pack up and go to bed when there was a huge cracking sound and my computer turned itself off.
If anyone can offer anything better than 'my power supply blew up,' please say. That's what I think happened, anyway, but it's an ANTEC. They're supposed to be good. So it doesn't turn on. Not at all. Nothing.
I really am hoping it hasn't taken anything else with it. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if replacing the power supply works. If not, I'll see what does work. If nothing works, it could be a while before anything happens on this site for a while.
Fortunately it's all on the server so I'll only have to redownload it to carry on. Unfortunately, if my hard drive has been bludgeoned, my emails will be all lost and I'll have no dreamweaver and no photoshop (more importantly, no porn). So those people that have emailed me, you might have to email your details again.
Fortunately my music and photos are saved on my new DAP but I didn't think to backup my emails and other important documents to it.
However, since the deadline for my assignment passes today, I may as well get to work on making the site easier to update. I'll have to see what happens with that. Maybe I'll get some extra time, in which case this work might be delayed. But whatever.
It would happen the day my sister finally clears her desk so she gets to have my old computer. Maybe got to get that back.
I'm not sure whether I should laugh or cry. It's like losing a child, not that I'd know how that feels. But it does. I built that thing.
Oh well, forget it. I'll just post this to my other message boards and go to bed.
